The HU-200TB-W is HORIBA's field-installation type turbidity meter from the H-1 Series, designed for continuous turbidity monitoring at locations with wide turbidity fluctuations — such as water intake points and sedimentation tanks. Based on the 90° transmission-scattering method with a near-infrared LED light source (860 nm) and paired with the SS-120-W industrial turbidity detector, it covers turbidity from 0 to 2000 degrees (Formazin/NTU) or 0–1000 degrees (Kaolin) with automatic four-range switching. A motorised electric wiper cleaning function (optional) and automatic zero calibration (optional) ensure stable long-term measurements with minimal maintenance.

The system consists of the HU-200TB-W converter and the SS-120-W industrial turbidity detector, which uses the 90° transmission-scattering method with a near-infrared LED light source at 860 nm. By simultaneously measuring both transmitted and scattered light, the instrument compensates for variations in the light source and detector as well as light attenuation due to contamination, delivering stable and accurate readings even in demanding environments. Automatic four-range switching covers turbidity from low to high levels without manual intervention, making the system well suited to locations where turbidity changes significantly over time. An optional motorised electric wiper cleaning function with outstanding cleaning power, combined with the long-life LED light source, minimises maintenance requirements. An optional automatic zero calibration function further reduces manual calibration effort.

Applications

The HU-200TB-W is suited to continuous turbidity monitoring at river water intake points, water treatment plant sedimentation and filtration tanks, industrial process water monitoring, and environmental water quality surveillance — particularly where turbidity fluctuates widely and automatic range switching and automated cleaning are needed for reliable long-term measurement.

Installation and Safety Notes

Mount converter on a 50 A pole or wall. Power: 100–240 V AC ±10%, 50/60 Hz, 35 VA max. (with automatic cleaner connected). Install SS-120-W detector via Rc3/4 threaded bore; sample water temperature 0–45 °C; pressure 0–0.3 MPa. Standard sensor cable: 5 m. When sensor, transmission, or contact input cables are extended to 30 m or more, the CE marking surge test does not apply — fit appropriate surge absorption elements. Operating temperature: −20 to 55 °C; humidity: 5–90% RH non-condensing.
