TOCADERO ONE, Automatic On-Line Total Organic Carbon Analyzer, HORIBA

The TOCADERO ONE is HORIBA's on-line TOC analyzer for continuous measurement of total organic carbon in wastewater, industrial effluent, process water, and environmental water, developed by HORIBA Tocadero GmbH. It is based on the 1200 °C high-temperature combustion oxidation method without catalyst: organic carbon compounds in the sample are completely oxidised in the combustion furnace, generating CO₂ that is measured by a detector to determine TOC concentration. The absence of a catalyst and the extreme combustion temperature ensure reliable oxidation even of refractory organic compounds, high-concentration samples (up to 20,000 mg/L C), and high-salinity matrices (up to 200 g/L TDS / 20% NaCl) with minimal furnace blockage. Fast cycle times — TC minimum 1 minute, NPOC minimum 3 minutes — support high-frequency process monitoring. Device status is continuously monitored by integrated sensors, enabling Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) for proactive servicing. Functions for reducing residue carryover effects and an automatic pure water cleaning feature maintain measurement integrity during flow path switching and concentration fluctuations. The highly scalable hardware and user-friendly 7" touch panel interface, combined with a comprehensive connectivity suite covering OPC UA, Profinet, Modbus, Bluetooth, WLAN, 5G, and ATEX/IECEx Zone 1/2 certification, make the TOCADERO ONE a versatile solution for demanding industrial environments.

Installation and Safety Notes

Install indoors at 2–45 °C. Power: 110–230 V AC ±10 V, 50/60 Hz, approx. 600 VA. Carrier gas: CO₂-free instrument air. Particles in sample must be below 2000 µm (optional homogenizer available for samples with larger particles). For hazardous area installation, ATEX/IECEx Zone 1/2 T3/T4 certification applies.
