RM Base Medium provides a defined and nutritionally optimized environment for the PL expression system. The PL promoter (from bacteriophage lambda) is a strong, regulated promoter often used for high-level protein production. This medium utilizes Casamino acids as a source of nitrogen and essential amino acids, along with Ammonium chloride. A robust phosphate buffer system (Disodium and Monopotassium phosphate) ensures pH stability during the growth phase. Unlike Induction Base Medium, RM Base Medium is typically used during the growth and maintenance phases to ensure high cell density and genetic stability of the host strains before the induction process is triggered.
