1552 Luria Agar (Miller’s LB Agar), Condalab

Luria Agar (Miller’s modification) is based on the original LB (Lysogeny Broth) formulation but contains a higher concentration of Sodium chloride (10.0 g/L) compared to the Lennox formulation (5.0 g/L). This higher salt content is optimized for specific E. coli strains that require a higher osmotic pressure for optimal growth and plasmid stability. The medium provides essential nutrients through Tryptone (amino acids and peptides) and Yeast Extract (B-complex vitamins and trace elements). The addition of bacteriological agar provides a solid surface for colony isolation and the selection of recombinant clones.
