TSYEB Broth is a modification of Tryptic Soy Broth (TSB) supplemented with a high concentration of Yeast Extract. The Pancreatic Digest of Casein and Soy Peptone provide organic nitrogen, amino acids, and long-chain peptides. Yeast Extract serves as a vital source of B-complex vitamins and growth factors, which are essential for the robust proliferation of Listeria. Glucose (Dextrose) is included as an energy source, while Dipotassium Phosphate acts as a buffering agent to maintain the pH during bacterial growth. Sodium Chloride ensures the osmotic balance of the medium. Because it is a non-selective enrichment broth, it allows for the rapid recovery of stressed cells and ensures that the bacterial population is in an optimal physiological state for subsequent testing.
Advantages
- ISO 11290 Compliance: Fully meets the standardized requirements for the detection and enumeration of Listeria in food and environmental samples.
- Enhanced Growth: The addition of 0.6% Yeast Extract significantly improves the recovery and growth rate of Listeria species compared to standard TSB.
- Versatile Identification Base: Ideal for preparing pure cultures needed for catalase tests, motility testing, and other biochemical confirmation steps.
- Nutrient-Rich Formulation: Supports the growth of a wide range of fastidious bacteria beyond the Listeria genus.
- Consistent Performance: Formulated to ensure reproducible results in highly regulated pharmaceutical and food safety laboratories.
