Required for nitrite-nitrogen analysis in water samples by Color Disc/Diazotization method.
Nitrite/Nitrogen Color Disc Test Set is required for nitrite-nitrogen determination in water and other liquids. The set measures nitrite-nitrogen in the following range: 0 - 0.40 mg/L NO₂⁻-N. Nitrite/Nitrogen Color Disc Test Kit uses Color Disc/Diazotization method and can be used for 100 tests. The smallest increment: 0.01 mg/L NO₂⁻-N.
Nitrite/Nitrogen Test Set includes:
- NitriVer® 3 Nitrite Reagent Powder Pillows (p/n 1407899)
- Nitrite Nitrogen Color Disc, 0-0.4 mg/L (p/n 9262300)
- Color Comparator Box (p/n 173200)
- Glass Dropper, 0.5- and 1.0-mL marks (p/n 1419705)
- 18 mm Plastic Viewing Tubes, with caps (p/n 4660004)
Procedure for NO₂⁻-N determination
Before you start take into account the following:
- Dilute the sample if the nitrite-nitrogen concentration exceeds 0.4 mg/L NO₂⁻-N.
- Use the standard solution as the sample to control the test accuracy.
- Multiply the testing results by 3.33 to record the value as mg/L NO₂⁻.
Testing procedure
Fill two tubes to the 5 mL line with sample. Insert the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. Add the content of NitriVer 3 Nitrite Reagent Powder Pillow into the second tube, set the cap and shake for 1 minute. The pink color occurs as the result of the reaction. After 10 minutes, install the second tube into the color comparator box, turn the color disc to determine the matching color. Analyze the testing results in mg/L in the scale window.
