1408100 Nitrate-Nitrite Test Kit, Model NI-12

Nitrate-Nitrite Test Set is required for nitrate-nitrogen evaluation in the range from 0 to 40 mg/L NO₃⁻-N in water samples. The set also measures nitrite-nitrogen in the range between 0.01 and 0.40 mg/L NO₂⁻-N in water samples. Model NI-12 uses Color Disc/Cadmium reduction, Diazotization method. Nitrate-Nitrite Test Kit may be used for 100 samples. The smallest increments are 1 mg/L NO₃⁻-N and 0.01 mg/L NO₂⁻-N. Low-cost color disc method for quick and reliable nitrate-nitrogen and nitrite-nitrogen determination.

Procedure for NO₃⁻-N measurement

Before starting analysis:

• Use the standard solution as the sample to control the test accuracy.
• Multiply the testing results by 4.4 to record the value as mg/L NO₃⁻.

Testing procedure

Add 5 mL of sample into two tubes. Install the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. Pour the content of NitraVer 5 Nitrate Reagent Powder Pillow to the second tube, close the the tube and shake for 1 minute. After 1 minute, the amber color appears. Insert the second tube into the color comparator box, rotate the color disc to determine the color match and analyze the testing results.

Procedure for NO₂⁻-N determination

Before you start take into account the following:

• Strong oxidizing and reducing substances interfere with the test.
• Multiply the testing results by 3.33 to record the value as mg/L NO₂⁻.

Testing procedure

Fill two tubes to the 5 mL line with sample. Place the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. Add NitriVer 3 Nitrite Reagent Powder Pillow to the second tube, install the cap and shake the content of the tube for 1 minute. The pink color occurs as the result of the reaction. Wait 10 minutes. Analyze the testing results within 15 minutes. While keeping the color comparator box in front of the source of light, rotate the disk to match the color. Evaluate the testing results in mg/L in the scale window.
