2129000 Free and Total Chlorine Test Kit, Model CN-80

Free and Total Chlorine Test Kit is used to conduct free and total chlorine analysis in water and other liquids. Model CN-80 performs free and total chlorine determination in the following ranges: 0 - 0.68 mg/L Cl₂ (LR), 0 - 3.4 mg/L Cl₂ (MR) and 0 - 10 mg/L Cl₂ (HR - total chlorine only). Free and Total Chlorine Test Set uses Color Disc/DPD method. The set can be used for 100 tests. The smallest increments are 0.02, 0.1 and 0.5 mg/L Cl₂. Procedure for Cl₂ determination

Before starting analysis:

• It is recommended to analyze the sample instanly after collection.
• It is required to place the color disc on the center pin in the color comparator box (numbers to the front).
• It is necessary to use the 0-3.4 mg/L color disc for the low and mid-range procedure and 0-10 mg/L color disc for the high-range procedure.

Testing procedure

In order to conduct free and total chlorine analysis in the range of 0-0.68 mg/L Cl₂, place the long-path adapter in the color comparator box. Add the sample in the tube to the top line. Install the tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. After that pour 25 mL of the sample and DPD Free or Total Chlorine Powder Pillow into the bottle and swirl the bottle content. Then read the testing results within 1 minute for free chlorine measurement. Wait 3 minutes and read the testing results within 6 minutes for total chlorine determination. Fill another tube to the top line with the sample and install into the color comparator box. Hold the color comparator box under the light source. Rotate the color disc to match the color. Divide the value by 5 to get the testing results in mg/L. See manual for additional information regarding mid range and high range free and total chlorine determination.
