Yeast Nitrogen Base (NutriSelect® Plus) is a chemically defined medium used for the classification of yeasts based on their carbon assimilation and for the antifungal susceptibility testing of fungi.

Add to bag

Yeast Nitrogen Base is formulated according to Wickerham's specifications. It contains all the essential vitamins, inorganic salts, and trace elements required for the vigorous growth of yeasts, with the exception of a carbon source and specific amino acids. This medium is particularly useful for identifying yeast species by testing their ability to utilize different carbohydrates. Additionally, it serves as a defined liquid medium for susceptibility testing with antifungal drugs in clinical and research microbiology.
