2167570 Triazole Test Kit without UV Lamp and Power Supply, Model TZ-1

2167570 Hach

Required for benzotriazole/tolyltriazole evaluation in water samples from boilers and cooling towers.

Add to bag

Triazole Test Set is used for benzotriazole/tolyltriazole analysis in the range from 0 to 15.0 mg/L in water samples from boilers and cooling towers. Color Disc/ UV photolysis method is used to perform benzotriazole/tolyltriazole determination. The set can be used to conduct 50 tests. The smallest increment is 0.5 mg/L. UV Lamp and power supply are not included in the kit.

Triazole Test Kit contains:

  • Triazole Reagent Powder Pillows (p/n 2141299)
  • Square Bottle, with 25-mL mark (p/n 1704200)
  • Bottle Holder (p/n 1143322)
  • Color Comparator Box (p/n 173200)
  • Benzotriazole Color Disc, 0-15 mg/L (p/n 9266900)
  • Tolyltriazole Color Disc, 0-15 mg/L (p/n 9264500)
  • 18 mm Plastic Viewing Tubes, with caps (p/n 4660004)

Procedure for Benzotriazole/Tolyltriazole determination

Before starting analysis:

  • Select the corresponding color disc for benzotriazole or tolyltriazole measurement.
  • Adjust the sample temperature to 20-25 °C (68-78 °F) before evaluation.
  • Take the digestion time into account.

Testing procedure

  1. Pour 5 mL of sample into the the first tube. Place the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box.
  2. Add 25 mL of sample and the content of Triazole Reagent Powder Pillow in the bottle.
  3. Install the bottle in the bottle holder. Keep the bottle holder in the storage case.
  4. Put on the UV protection goggles, insert the UV lamp in the bottle and switch on the UV lamp. After 5 minutes, the content of the bottle turns yellow as the result of the reaction. Turn off the UV lamp.
  5. Transfer the pretreated sample into the second tube.
  6. Install the second tube into the color comparator box.
  7. Rotate the color disc to determine the matching color. Read the testing results in mg/L in the scale window.
