Required for orthophosphate determination in water samples by Color Disc/Stannous method.
Model PO-14 with color disc covers a range of 0 - 4.4 mg/L PO₄ and 0 - 44 mg/L PO₄ in water samples. Phosphorus, Orthophosphate (Reactive) Test Set can be used to conduct 100 tests. The smallest increments are 0.1 and 1 mg/L PO₄.
PO-14 Test Set contains:
- Ammonium Molybdate Reagent (p/n 11032H)
- Phosphate 2 Phosphate Reagent Powder Pillows (p/n 106199)
- Phosphate Color Disc, 0-4.4 mg/L, 0-44 mg/L (p/n 9266600)
- Color Comparator Box (p/n 173200)
- 18 mm Glass Viewing Tubes (p/n 173006)
- Stoppers for 18-mm Glass Tubes and AccuVac Ampuls (p/n 173106)
- Deionized Water (p/n 27242)
- Glass Dropper, 0.5- and 1.0-mL marks (p/n 1419705)
Procedure for PO₄ evaluation
Before you start take into account the following:
- Rinse tubes with sample before the analysis.
- Rinse tubes with deionized water after the analysis.
- Evaluate the testing results within 15 minutes after adding reagents.
Testing procedure
For determination of orthophosphate in the range from 0 to 4.4 mg/L PO₄, fill two tubes to the first line with sample. Place the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. Pipet 4 drops of Ammonium Molybdate Reagent to the second tube, install the stopper and shake to mix. Pour the content of Phosphate 2 Reagent Powder Pillow to the second tube, set the stopper and invert the content of the second tube until the reagent is dissolved. The blue color appears as the result of the reaction. Insert the second tube into the color comparator box. While holding the color comparator box in front of a light source, rotate the color disc to determine the matching color. Analyze the value in the scale window.
Read manual for additional information regarding orthophosphate determination in the range between 0 and 44 mg/L PO₄.
