224801 Phosphorus, Orthophosphate (Reactive) Test Kit, Model PO-19A

Phosphorus, Orthophosphate (Reactive) Test Set measures orthophosphate in the range of 0 - 0.8 mg/L PO₄, 0 - 4 mg/L PO₄ and 0 - 40 mg/L PO₄ in water and other liquids. The set uses Color Disc/Ascorbic acid method. Model PO-19A can be used for 100 tests. The smallest increment is 0.02 PO₄.

Procedure for PO₄ determination

Before you start take into account the following:

• Clean tubes and bottles with 6.0 N (1:1) hydrochloric acid solution and rinse with deionized water.
• Use the value in the middle of the two segments if the color match is between two segments.
• Samples containing turbidity must be filtered before analysis (see the instruction sheet - included with the kit).

Testing procedure

If your sample contains turbidity, filter it in accordance with the instructions. After that follow the below mentioned steps.

In order to perform orthophosphate determination in the range from 0 - 4 mg/L PO₄, remove the long-path adapter from the color comparator box (if installed). Fill two tubes to the 5 mL line with sample. Place the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. Pour the content of PhosVer 3 Phosphate Reagent Powder Pillow to the second tube. Stir the second tube until the blue color appears. After 1 minute, insert the second tube into the color comparator box, rotate the color disc to find the color match and read the value in the scale window. Divide the value by 10 to get the testing results in mg/L.
