147006 pH Test Kit, 5.5 - 8.5 pH, Model 17F

pH Test Kit is required for pH measurement in the range of 5.5 - 8.4 pH units in water. Color Disc/ Bromthymol blue method is used to perform pH evaluation. pH Test Set can be used for 200 tests. The smallest increment is 0.1 pH. Get fast and error-free testing results with the easy-to-carry test set.

• Bromthymol Blue pH Color Disc, 5.6-8.4 pH (p/n 9261200)
• Color Comparator Box (p/n 173200)
• 18 mm Plastic Viewing Tubes, with caps (p/n 4660004)

Procedure for pH analysis using 17F kit

Before starting analysis:

• It is required to use the value in the middle of the two segments if colors between two segments are matching.
• It it recommended to use the buffer solution as the sample to control the test accuracy.
• Chlorine concentrations greater than 1 mg/l interfere with the test.To remove it, simply pipet 1 drop of 0.1 N sodium thiosulfate solution to 25 mL of sample. Note, that sodium thiosulfate removes a maximum of 10 mg/L chlorine from the sample.

Testing procedure

Firstly, fill two tubes to the first line with sample. Secondly, install the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. Thirdly, pipet 8 drops of bromthymol blue pH indicator solution to the second tube and swirl to mix. Finally, insert the second tube into the color comparator box, rotate the color disc to match the color and analyze the testing results.
