For iron determination in water and other liquids by Color Disc/1,10 Phenanthroline method.
Iron Test Set measures iron in the range of 0 - 4 mg/L Fe in water and other liquids. Color Disc/1,10 Phenanthroline method is used to perform iron determination. IR-18 can be used for 100 tests. The smallest increment is 0.1 mg/L Fe. Iron Test Kit includes all apparatus, reagents and instructions in the easy-to-carry case for analysis in the field.
Iron Test Kit includes:
- FerroVer Iron Reagent Powder Pillows (p/n 92799)
- Iron Color Disc, indoor light, 0–4 mg/L (p/n 9262400)
- Iron Color Disc, outdoor light, 0–4 mg/L (p/n 9263800)
- Color Comparator Box (p/n 173200)
- 18mm Plastic Viewing Tubes, with caps (p/n 4660004)
Procedure for Fe measurement
Before starting analysis:
- Place the color disc on the center pin in the color comparator box (numbers to the front).
- Use the value in the middle of the two segments if colors between two segments are matching.
- Use the indoor light color disc if the light source is the fluorescent light.
- Use the outdoor light color disc if the light source is the sunlight.
Testing procedure
Firstly, add the sample in two tubes to the first line. Secondly, install the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. Thirdly, fill the second tube with the content of FerroVer Iron Reagent Powder Pillow and swirl to mix. The orange color appears as the result of the reaction. Finally, insert the second tube into the color comparator box, keep the color comparator box in front of the light and turn the color disc to identify the color match. Read the result in mg/L in the scale window.
