LCK Reagent Set measures organic acids in digested sludge, activated sludge, process water and food products.
13mm LCK365 Cuvette test measures 50-2500 mg/L CH₃COOH or 75-3600 mg/L C₃H₇COOH in digested sludge, activated sludge and other liquids. The product uses esterification method. The product may be used to perform analysis of 25 samples. LCK365 reagent set can be evaluated with one of the following DR series instruments: DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Mix 0.4 mL of solution A and 0.4 mL of sample in the cuvette. Heat the cuvette in the preheated thermoreactor for 10 minutes at 100 °C (212 °F). Cool down the cuvette to room temperature, pipet 0.4 mL of solution B and invert the cuvette several times. Pour 0.4 mL of solution C and reverse the cuvette a few times. Add 2.0 mL of solution D using pipette, invert the cuvette content several times and evaluate the collected sample in the Hach spectrophotometer. Fatty acids enter into reaction with diols in acidic environment to form fatty acid esters that are reduced by iron (III) salts to form red colored complexes. It is required to perform evaluation of the color change using one of the aforementioned spectrophotometers. It is required to filter digested sludge, activated sludge and other liquid samples containing particles.
LCK365 Cuvette test storage conditions are from 15 °C to 25 °C (59-77 °F).
