HP-200, Field-Installation Type pH Meter HP-200, HORIBA

HP-200 Horiba

The HORIBA HP-200 is a field-installation type pH meter (pH 0–14, resolution 0.01 pH) with automatic temperature compensation (0–100 °C). It provides two 4–20 mA DC isolated transmission outputs, five relay contact outputs (alarm, ON/OFF and time-sharing proportional control), one cleaning output, RS-485 communication, and 1/2/3-point auto or manual calibration. IP65-rated aluminium housing; pole or wall mount; operating range −20 to 55 °C; power supply 100–240 V AC. CE marked (EN61326-1, EN61010-1, RoHS EN50581).

Add to bag

The HP-200 is HORIBA's long-selling field-installation type pH meter, trusted across a wide range of industries for reliable, continuous pH monitoring and control. It is designed for demanding industrial environments, offering robust performance in both indoor and outdoor installations. The instrument accommodates a broad selection of compatible glass electrodes and cleaning devices — including convenient ultrasonic cleaners that require neither water nor air — making it easy to adapt to existing installations without extensive retrofitting. The reflective monochrome LCD display ensures legibility in direct sunlight, while the IP65-rated aluminium alloy housing and SUS304 stainless steel fittings guarantee long-term durability in harsh conditions.

Key Features HP-200

  • Wide pH measurement range pH 0 to 14 (display range pH −1 to 15) with 0.01 pH resolution and ±0.03 pH repeatability and linearity.
  • Automatic temperature compensation over 0–100 °C; supports platinum resistor (1 kΩ) and multiple NTC thermistors; sensor type detected automatically.
  • Two isolated 4–20 mA DC transmission outputs (max. load 900 Ω) with configurable hold and burnout options; output 1 for pH, output 2 for temperature.
  • Five relay contact outputs (SPDT 1c, 250 V AC / 30 V DC, 3 A): upper/lower limit alarm, ON/OFF control, time-sharing proportional control, and FAIL alarm.
  • Integrated cleaning output with programmable period (0.1–168 h), cleaning time (2–600 s), and hold time (2–600 s) for automated electrode maintenance.
  • RS-485 serial communication (2-wire, isolated from input circuit) for integration into plant SCADA and DCS systems.
  • 1, 2, or 3-point calibration using standard pH 2, 4, 7, 9, and 10 solutions; automatic detection of standard solution type and potential stability; calibration history stored.
  • Comprehensive self-diagnostics: glass membrane cracking detection, reference electrode impedance error, temperature sensor fault, CPU/ADC/memory errors.
  • IP65 protection (IEC60529 / JIS C0920); pole (50 A) or wall mount; aluminium alloy housing with epoxy-denatured melamine resin coating.
  • CE marked: EMC EN61326-1 Class A, Safety EN61010-1, RoHS EN50581; FCC Part 15 Class A.

Applications

The HP-200 is suitable for continuous pH monitoring and closed-loop control in industrial production processes, municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, drinking water and tap water facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage production, chemical and petrochemical processes, and environmental monitoring. The wide range of compatible electrodes and cleaning devices enables reliable operation across samples ranging from clean process water to aggressive industrial effluents.

Installation and Safety Notes

Mount the HP-200 on a 50 A pole or wall in a location free from vibration and direct mechanical impact. Power supply: 100–240 V AC ±10%, 50/60 Hz, 15 VA max. Ensure proper grounding in accordance with local electrical codes. When extending sensor, transmission, or contact input cables by 30 m or more, install appropriate surge absorption elements on all connection lines — the CE marking surge test does not apply to extended cable runs. An internal arrester (spark-over voltage 400 V) is provided for transmission output, contact input, and communication terminals. Operating temperature: −20 to 55 °C; storage: −25 to 65 °C; humidity: 5–90% RH non-condensing.
