LCK Reagent Set measures menthol in tobacco.
Article LYW185 measures 0.5-15 mg Menthol/100 mL in tobacco. The product uses p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde method. The product can be used for 25 tests. LYW185 reagent set (13mm) is compatible with DR3900 and DR6000.
Pipet 0.5 mL of sample, close the cuvette and invert several times. After that heat in the preheated thermoreactor for 5 minutes at 100 °C (212 °F). Cool the cuvette with cold water for around 1 minute. After 5 minutes, insert the cuvette in the instrument and select the program. Finally, recalculate the result in % with the following formula: Result × 10 ÷ Weighing (g) = % Menthol. Menthol enters into reaction with p-Dimethylaminobenzaldehyde forming red compound. The color must be measured using Hach spectrophotometer. It is recommended to perform the analysis using original accessories.
