LCW Reagent Set measures sulphite in foodstuffs and boiler water.
LCW054 reagent set (13mm) measures 0.1-5.0 mg/L Cl in foodstuffs and boiler water. The product uses Hach method. Article LCW054 may be used to analyze up to 100 tests. The product is compatible with the following DR series instruments: DR3900 and DR6000.
Before you start take into account the following:
- The sample analysis should be carried out instantly after the sample has been collected.
- Testing results of the conducted measurement should be checked for plausibility.
Procedure for Cl determination
Prepare the blank cuvette by pouring sample in 10 mm rectangular cuvette. Mix 10.0 mL sample, 5 drops of reagent A and 2 drops of reagent B in the beaker. After 3 minutes, transfer the beaker content to 10 mm rectangular cuvette. Insert the blank cuvette in the spectrophotometer, select the test and push ZERO. Remove the blank cuvette and insert the cuvette containing sample and reagents. Evaluate testing results using one of the aforementioned instruments.
Summary of method
The reagent enters into reaction with sulfites forming a yellow complex. The color must be evaluated photometrically.
