LCW Reagent Set measures silica in boiler water, drinking water and process analysis.
LCW028 reagent set (13mm) measures 0.01-0.8 mg/L SiO₂ in boiler water and drinking water. The product uses molybdenum blue method. Each package of the LCW028 Cuvette test may be used to perform up to 50 tests. The product is compatible with DR3900 and DR6000. LCW028 reagent set is intended to be used together with round cuvettes LCZ906 or 50 mm rectangular cuvette.
Pour 25.0mL sample in the plastic beaker and transfer into 50mm rectangular cuvette to prepare the blank cuvette. Mix 25.0 mL sample and 1.0 mL solution A into another plastic beaker. Add 1.0 mL solution B and stir the beaker content. Pipet 1.0 mL solution C and mix content of the beaker again. After 25 minutes, transfer beaker content to 50 mm rectangular cuvette. Thoroughly clean and insert the blank cuvette in the spectrophotometer. Remove the blank cuvette from the cell holder and insert the sample cuvette. In acidic solution, dissolved silicic acid or silicates enter into reaction with ammonium molybdate forming yellow-coloured silicomolybdic acid. The blue color appears after adding the reducing agent. The color is analyzed using Hach spectrophotometer. Eliminate phosphate interference by adding spatula-tipfull of oxalic acid.
The product storage conditions are between 15 °C and 25 °C.
