LCW Reagent Set measures iron in boiler water, raw water, drinking water and mineral water.
LCW021 reagent set measures 0.005-2.0mg/L and 0.05-2.0 mg/L Fe Fe in boiler water, raw water and other liquids. The product uses the following reaction: Iron (II) ions enter into reaction with FerroZine to form violet complex compound. Article LCW021 may be used for 50 tests. 13mm LCK521 Cuvette test is compatible with DR3900 and DR6000 spectrophotometers.
Test procedure for 0.005-0.250 mg/L Fe (not compatible with DR1900): Mix 0.2 mL solution A, 5.0 mL sample, 0.3 mL solution B and 1 MicoCap C in the 50 mm cuvette. Then close the cuvette, invert several times and after 15 minutes, invert the cuvette content a few more times. Pour distilled water in the empty 50 mm blank cuvette and insert into the cell holder. Remove the blank cuvette and evaluate the sample cuvette.
Test procedure for 0.05-2.00 mg/L Fe: Pipet 0.2 mL solution A and 5.0 mL sample into the cuvette. After 2 minutes add 0.3 mL solution B and 1 MicroCap C into the sample cuvette. Close and stir the cuvette until the freeze-dried contents eventually dissolve. After 15 minutes, invert the cuvette a few more times and analyze using the spectrophotometer. Iron (II) ions form violet complex compound with FerroZine®. Any iron (III) ions in the water sample are reduced to iron (II) ions by ascorbic acid before the complex is formed. Higher copper content (over 0.1 mg/L) may causes high-bias results.
It is not necessary to preserve the boiler water, raw water and other liquid sample for short-term period. The long-term sample conservation requires pH reduction to pH<2. Sampling vessel should be made of glass, polyethylene or borosilicate glass. LCW021 Cuvette test storage conditions are between 15 °C and 25 °C.
