LCK Reagent Set measures chromium (III and VI) in wastewater.
LCS313 Cuvette test (13mm) measures 0.005-0.25 mg/L Cr in wastewater. The product uses diphenylcarbazide method (EN ISO 11083, DIN 38405-D24). Article LCS313 can be used for 25 tests. The product is compatible with the following DR series spectrophotometers: DR1900, DR3900 and DR6000. LCS313 reagent kit is intended to be used together with 50mm semi-micro cuvettes.
LCS313 reagent set has the procedure for analysis of total chromium and chromium VI (see LCS313 Cuvette test manual for detailed instruction). Chromium (VI) ions enter into reaction with 1,5-diphenylcabazide to form 1,5-diphenylcarbazone that forms a red complex with chromium VI. Low-bias results may be obtained due to larger concentration of iron, copper, reducing and oxidizing agents. Lead, mercury and tin may cause high-bias results. The undissolved chromium is not determined. The chromium (III) concentration is obtained mathematically differentiating chromium (total) and chromium (VI).
The sample preparation is not required for short-term storage of wastewater sample that contains chromium. For 1 month conservation it is required to reduce the sample pH to <2 using nitric acid. The collected sample should be transported and stored in the glass, polyethylene and borosilicate glass. LCS313 Cuvette test storage conditions are between 2 °C and 8 °C.
