LCS028 Silica Acid Reagent Set, 0.8-100 mg/L SiO₂

LCS028 Hach

LCK Reagent Set measures silica acid in boiler water and drinking water.

Add to bag

13mm LCS028 reagent set measures 0.8-100 mg/L SiO₂ and 0.4-50 mg/L Si in boiler water and drinking water. The product uses molybdenum blue method. Article LCS028 can be used for 50 tests. LCS028 Cuvette test is compatible with the following DR series spectrophotometers: DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000. The product is intended to be used together with round cuvette LCW906.

For sample analysis containing silica acid 0.8-20 mg/L SiO₂ or silicon 0.4-10 mg/L Si, pipet 5mL water sample, 20mL double-distilled water and 1mL solution A in the plastic beaker. Stir the content of the beaker and add 1 mL solution B. Mix the beaker and add 1 mL solution C. After 25 minutes, pour the prepared sample in the LCW906 cuvette. After that prepate the blank-cuvette by filling the round cuvette LCW906 with double-distilled water. Insert the blank-value cuvette in the instrument, select the test and push ZERO. Then remove the blank-value, insert the sample cuvette and push READ. Finally, multiply the displayed result with 22.25. For analysis of the boiler water and drinking water sample containing silica acid 20-100 mg/L SiO₂ or silicon 10-50 mg/L Si, perform the recommended procedure (see manual). In an acidic solution, dissolved silicic acid or silicates enter into reaction with ammonium molybdate forming yellow-coloured silicomolybdic acid. Blue color is formed after adding the reducing agent.

LCS028 reagent kit storage conditions are between 15 °C and 25 °C.
