LCK Reagent Set measures chemical oxygen demand in wastewater and soil.
LCK Cuvette test measures COD in the range of 100-600 mg/L O₂ in wastewater and soil. The product uses dichromate method (ISO 6060-1989, DIN 38409-H41-H44 according to standard). Article LCK714 can be used for 25 tests. LCK product can be evaluated on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Invert the cuvette content a few times to bring the sediment into suspension and drip 2.0 mL of the sample. Close the cuvette, invert the cuvette and it heat in the thermostat at the recommended temperature. After that take the cuvette, allow it to cool down and evaluate sample results using Hach spectrophotometer. Oxidizable substances are reacting with sulphuric acid and potassium dichromate solution in the presence of the catalyst (silver sulphate). Chloride is masked by mercury sulphate. Evaluate the green coloration of Cr3+. Finally dispose solutions according to local, state and federal regulations.
In order to conservate the wastewater or soil sample and use it for the analysis within 24 hours, the sample must be stored at the temperature between +2 °C and +5 °C. For 14 days of sample storage the temperature should be around -18°C. The product storage conditions are between 15 °C and 25 °C protected from light.
