LCK Reagent Set measures biological oxygen demand in municipal and industrial waste water.
13mm LCK Cuvette test measures BOD5 in the range of 4-1650 mg/L O₂ in municipal and industrial waste water. The product uses dilution method (EN 1899-1). Article LCK555 can be used for 39 tests. LCK product can be evaluated on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
It is recommended to store the water sample in the dark at the temperature of 20° C (68° F). Sample analysis takes 5 days using dilution and photometric method analyzing biochemical oxygen demand. The red dye is analyzed using Hach photometers. Peroxide compounds and other oxidants may cause low-bias results. High chlorine concentrations can be responsible for low-bias or high-bias results. Reducing agents may cause high-bias results. Plausibility checks may be achieved through multiple determinations and further water sample dilutions. The pH of the water sample should be between 4-10 pH. The recommended temperature of the municipal and industrial waste water sample and dilution water must be between 18°C and 24 °C (64-75 °F).
The recommended storage temperature for short-term sample conservation is 2 °C - 5 °C. The recommended storage temperature for longer-term conservation is -18 °C. The water sample must be transported and stored in glass or polyethylene container. The product storage conditions are between 2 °C and 8 °C.
