LCK Reagent Set measures ammonium in surface water and wastewater.
LCK Cuvette test measures 0.5-5.0 mg/L NH₄-N or 0.65-6.5 mg/L NH₄ in surface water and wastewater. The product uses indophenol blue method (ISO 7150-1, DIN 38406 E5-1, UNI 11669:2017). Article LCK505 may be used for 25 tests. LCK product can be evaluated on the following instruments: DR3900, DR6000 and DR1900.
Before you start take into account the following:
- Large ammonium concentration may influence water sample test results.
- Plausibility check is recommended to be conducted by making dilutions.
Procedure for NH₄-N measurement
Mix 0.5 mL water sample with DosiCap Zip content and conduct the sample analysis using spectrophotometers DR3900, DR6000 and DR1900. Read LCK/TNTplus methods for surface water and wastewater sample analysis using DR1900.
Summary of method
Ammonium ions are reacting at pH 12.6 with hypochlorite ions and salicylate ions in the presence of sodium nitroprusside as reaction catalyst forming indophenol blue.
Sample preparation
Short-term and long-term conservation of the surface water and wastewater containing ammonium is not recommended. Water samples must be carried in glass or polyethylene vessel (PE). LCK505 Cuvette test storage conditions are between 2 °C and 8 °C (refrigerated).
