LCK Reagent Set measures total organic carbon in wastewater, surface water and process water.
LCK387 Cuvette test measures TOC in the range of 300-3000 mg/L O₂ in wastewater, surface water and process water. The product uses purging method (EN 1484, DIN 38409-H3). Article LCK387 can be used for 25 tests. The product can be evaluated on the following instruments: DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Before you start take into account the following:
- The required pH of the wastewater sample should be between 3 and 10.
- The temperature of the wastewater sample and reagents must be between 15°C and 25 °C.
- It is recommended to use only carbon-free water for sample dilution.
Procedure for O₂ determination
0.1 mL water sample must be added to the the digestion cuvette, mixed in the TOC-X5 shaker and heated in the classic preheated thermostat at the temperature of 100 °C (212 °F) for 2 hours at 100 °C or at 95 °C (203 °F) for 2 hours using the high temperature thermoreactor. Afterwards allow the cuvette to cool down to room temperature. The change of the color should be analyzed using abovementioned spectrophotometer.
Sample preparation
In order to store pH of the wastewater sample should be reduced with sulphuric acid to pH<2 and kept at the temperature between +2 °C and +5 °C for up to 1 week or at the temperature of -18 °C for up to 1 month storage. The water sample should be stored in glass or polyethylene vessel. The product storage conditions are between 2 °C and 8 °C. Article LCK387 should be kept refrigerated.
