LCK Reagent Set measures total organic carbon in wastewater, surface water and process water.
LCK Cuvette test (13mm) measures 3-30 mg/L C in wastewater and other liquids. The product uses purging method, persulphate digestion (EN 1484, DIN 38409-H3). Article LCK385 can be used to perform 25 tests. LCK product can be evaluated using the following instruments: DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
2.0 mL sample of the wastewater or other liquid should be pipetted into the the digestion cuvette and mixed in the TOC-X5 shaker. After that the cuvette must be heated in the classic preheated thermostat at 100 °C for 2 hours or at 95 °C (203 °F) for 2 hours using the high temperature heating block. The CO2 passes through membrane into the indicator cuvette, where it causes the change of the color, that is evaluated with Hach spectrophotometer. If the collected sample contains particles it is recommended to dilute the sample before performing analysis. Use only carbon-free water for sample dilution.
To conservate sample for 1 week the water sample pH must be reduced with sulphuric acid to pH<2 and stored at the temperature between +2 °C and +5 °C. For 1 month conservation it is required to keep the wastewater, surface water or process water sample at the temperature of -18 °C. The sample should be stored in glass or polyethylene container. The product storage conditions are between 2 °C and 8 °C (refrigerated). The package must be stored in an upright position.
