LCK Reagent Set measures silver for photographic and printing industry, X-ray laboratory and electroplating.
13mm LCK354 Cuvette test measures 0.04-0.8 mg/L Ag in photographic and printing industry, X-ray laboratory and electroplating. The product uses Hach method. The product can be used for 25 tests. LCK354 reagent kit can be evaluated on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Before you start take into account the following:
- Turbidities may be eliminated by filtration through membrane filter (LCW904).
- Poorly soluble silver compounds can be digested with LCW954 Total Silver test.
- Cyanides, bromides and thiosulphates interfere in concentrations ≥1 mg/L.
- Higher concentrations of the hypochlorite and free chlorine may cause low-bias testing results.
Procedure for Ag measurement
Pipet 0.4 mL of solution A, 5.0 mL of sample and 0.2 mL of solution B in the cuvette. Then invert the closed cuvette several times until the freeze-dried contents are completely dissolved. After 5 minutes add 5.0 mL sample in the empty blank cuvette and insert it into the cell holder. Finally remove the blank cuvette and insert the cuvette containing solution and collected sample.
Summary of method
Silver ions combine with the reagent and form orange-red complex.
Sample preparation
Sample preparation is not required for short-term preservation. For long-term sample conservation the pH of the sample should be reduced with nitric acid to pH<2. Silver containing sample preserved for long-term may be stored for up to 1 month. The sample must be stored in the glass, polyethylene and borosilicate glass. LCK354 Cuvette test storage conditions are between 15 °C and 25 °C.
