LCK350 Phosphate, Ortho, Total Cuvette Test, 2.0-20.0 mg/L PO₄-P

LCK350 Cuvette test (13mm) measures 2.0-20.0 mg/L PO₄-P, 6.0–60.0 mg/L PO₄ and 4.5–45.0 mg/L P₂O₅ in wastewater, drinking water and other liquids. The product uses phosphormolybdenum blue method (ISO 6878_2004, DIN EN 6878 / D11). Article LCK350 can be used for 25 tests. LCK product can be evaluated on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.

LCK350 Reagent set has 2 procedures for analysis of the total phosphorus and orthophosphate. For total phosphorus analysis pipet 0.4 mL sample in the cuvette, shake the cuvette content and heat using classic thermoreactor or high temperature thermostat (see LCK350 manual for specification of recommended temperatures). Add 0.5 mL Reagent B into the cooled cuvette and invert it several times until particles are completely dissolved. Finally insert the cuvette into the cell holder of the spectrophotometer and analyse testing results.

For analysis of the orthophosphate it is required to mix 0.4 mL sample and 0.5 mL Reagent B in the cuvette. Invert the cuvette and after 10 minutes evaluate results. Phosphate ions react with molybdate and antimony ions in an acidic solution to form an antimonyl phosphomolybdate complex that is reduced by ascorbic acid to phosphomolybdenum blue. It is recommended to filter the collected sample before analysis for the orthophosphate determination.

The water sample preparation is not required for short-term storage of total phosphate samples. It is recommended to reduce the pH of the wastewater, drinking water and other liquid sample to pH<2 using sulphuric acid. It is recommended to use following sampling vessel materials: glass, polyethylene or borosilicate glass. LCK350 storage conditions are between 15 °C and 25 °C.
