LCK Reagent Set measures orthophosphate and phosphorus total in wastewater, drinking water, boiler water and surface water.
13mm LCK349 Cuvette test measures 0.05-1.5 mg/L PO₄-P, 0.15–4.50 mg/L PO₄ and 0.15–3.50 mg/L P₂O₅ in wastewater, drinking water and other liquids. The product uses phosphormolybdenum blue method (ISO 6878_2004, DIN EN 6878 / D11). Article LCK349 may be used to perform 25 tests. LCK product can be evaluated on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Procedure for Total Phosphorus determination
In order to analyze total phosphorus remove the foil, mix the reagent and 2.0 mL sample in the cuvette and shake vigorously. Heat the cuvette for 60 minutes at 100° C (212° F) or for 30 minutes at 120° C (248° F) in the classic thermostat. For high temperature thermoreactor use standard program HT for 15 minutes. Add 0.2 mL Reagent B into the cooled and stirred cuvette and after 10 minutes perform sample analysis using Hach spectrophotometer.
Procedure for Orthophosphate evaluation
For orthophosphate analysis filtrate the sample before the testing. Mix 2.0 mL sample and 0.2 mL Reagent B in the cuvette. Screw the grey cap, invert the cuvette and insert the cuvette into the cell holder in order to perform water sample analysis. See manual for detailed instruction of the phosphorus and orthophosphate procedure.
Summary of method
Phosphate ions react with molybdate and antimony ions in acidic solution forming antimonyl phosphormolybdate complex that is reduced by ascorbic acid to phosphormolybdenum blue.
Sample preparation
No sample preparation is required for short-term conservation of the wastewater or other liquid sample. The recommended temperature for long-term conservation of the sample is -18°C. The collected sample must be stored in the glass, polyethylene and borosilicate glass. The aforementioned sample preparation applies only to total phosphorus analysis. The storage conditions of the LCK349 Cuvette test are from 15 °C to 25 °C.
