LCK Reagent Set measures nitrite in wastewater, drinking water, table water, surface water and mineral water.
LCK341 Cuvette test (13mm) measures 0.015-0.6 mg/L NO₂-N and 0.05-2.0 mg/L NO₂ wastewater, drinking water, table water and other liquids. The product uses diazotisation method (EN ISO 26777, DIN 38405 D10). Article LCK341 can be used for 25 tests. LCK product can be measured on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Before you start take into account the following:
- The recommended pH of the water sample is 3-10 pH.
- The required temperature of the water sample and reagents is 15-25 °C (59-77 °F).
Procedure for NO₂-N measurement
Extract the foil from the screwed-on cap and unscrew the cap from the cuvette. Pipet 2.0 mL of sample into the cuvette and screw the cap upside-down. Shake the cuvette and test the sample using Hach spectrophotometer.
Summary of method
Nitrites react with primary aromatic amines in acidic solution to form diazonium salts. Diazonium salts combine with aromatic compounds that contain an amino group or a hydroxyl group to form intensively colored azo dyes.
Sample preparation
Not more than 3 hours should elapse between sampling and analyzing the wastewater, drinking water, table water or other liquid sample. The conservation of water samples containing nitrite is not recommended. The sample is required to be stored in the glass or polyethylene (PE) container. The storage conditions of the LCK341 reagent kit are between 15 °C and 25 °C.
