LCK Reagent Set measures anionic surfactants in surface water, waste water and process analysis.
LCK332 Anionic Surfactants Cuvette Test, 0.05-2.0 mg/L Sodium Dodecylbenzene Sulphonate
LCK332 Cuvette test (13mm) measures 0.05-2.0 mg/L sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate in surface water, waste water and process analysis. The product uses methylene blue (MBA) method (ISO 7875-1-2-1984, DIN 38409-H 23-1). The product can be used for 25 tests. Article LCK332 may be evaluated on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000 spectrophotometers.
Before you start take into account the following:
- It is necessary to increase the cuvette temperature to remove sample turbidity.
- The recommended pH of the surface water and waste water sample: 4-9 pH.
- The required temperature of the water sample and reagents: 15-25 °C (59-77 °F).
Procedure for Sodium Dodecylbenzene Sulphonate determination
Mix 3.5 mL of sample, 0.4 mL of solution A and 0.2 mL of solution B in the cuvette. Close the cuvette and shake it for around 60 seconds. After that allow the phase separation to occur and invert the cuvette twice. Clean the outside of the cuvette and evaluate testing results.
Summary of method
Anionic surfactants react with methylene blue to form complexes that are extracted in chloroform and required to be evaluated photometrically.
Sample preparation
The recommended storage temperature of the LCK332 reagent kit: 15-25 °C.
