LCK Reagent Set measures cooper in wastewater, drinking water and process analysis
LCK329 Cuvette test (13mm) measures 0.1-8.0 mg/L Cu or 0.12-9.6 mg/L Cu (Crack-Set LCW 902) in wastewater, drinking water and process analysis. The product uses bathocuproine disulphonic acid method. Article LCK329 can be used to evaluate up to 25 tests. The product may be evaluated on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Before you start take into account the following:
- Undissolved or complexed copper can only be determined after digestion with Crack-Set LCW 902.
- The pH of the wastewater or other liquid sample is 2.5-11 pH.
- The required temperature of the water sample and reagents should be between 15 °C and 25 °C (59-77 °F).
- Higher content of iron and chromium may cause high-bias results.
Procedure for Cu evaluation
Add 2.0 mL of wastewater or other liquid sample and close the cuvette. Then invert the cuvette content until the freeze-dried contents are completely dissolved. After 3 minutes, clean the outside of the cuvette and analyze the collected sample.
Summary of method
Copper (I) ions are forming orange complex with the disodium salt of bathocuproine disulphonic acid. Any copper (II) ions present in the water sample are reduced to copper (I) ions by ascorbic acid before the complex is formed.
Sample preparation
Storage conditions of the LCK329 Cuvette test are between 15 °C and 25 °C.
