LCK Reagent Set measures water hardness, calcium and magnesium in raw water, drinking water, surface water, boiler water and process control.
LCK327 Cuvette test measures 1-20 °dH, 5-100 mg/L Ca and 3-50 mg/L Mg in raw water, drinking water, surface water and other liquids. The product uses metalphthalein method. The product can be used for perform analysis of 25 water samples. LCK327 reagent set (13mm) may be evaluated using the following instruments: DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Procedure for °dH, Ca and Mg evaluation
For water hardness, calcium and magnesium determination in raw water, drinking water and other liquid sample, pipet 4.0 mL of solution A and invert the cuvette until the freeze-dried contents are entirely dissolved. Insert the cuvette into the cell holder and select the program. Remove the cuvette and add 0.2 mL of water sample. After that insert the cuvette in the instrument and select the program. Remove the cuvette, pour 0.2 mL of solution B and evaluate the testing results using spectrophotometer.
Summary of method
Calcium and magnesium ions enter into reaction with metal phthalein giving violet color.
Storage conditions
The recommended storage conditions of the product are from 15 °C to 25 °C.
