LCK Reagent Set measures boron in surface water, wastewater, soil and waste.
LCK307 Cuvette test (13mm) measures 0.05-2.5 mg/L B surface water, wastewater, soil and waste. The product uses azomethine-H method (DIN 38405-D17). The product may be used for the analysis of 25 water samples. LCK307 reagent set can be evaluated on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000 spectrophotometers.
Before you start take into account the following:
- Turbidities may be eliminated by filtration through membrane filter (LCW904).
- The recommended pH of the water sample is 4-9 pH.
- The required working temperature of the water sample, reagents and sample cuvette must be around 20 °C (68 °F).
- The color reaction of the boron analysis is highly dependent on the temperature.
- The sample must be colorless in order to receive accurate testing results.
Procedure for B measurement
Add 1.0 mL of solution A and 2.5 mL of water, wastewater or other liquid sample in the cuvette and close the cuvette. Swirl the cuvette and invert a few times until the lyophilisate has dissolved completely. After 40 minutes insert the clean cuvette into the cell holder and analyse the water sample.
Summary of method
Borate ions enter into reaction with azomethine-H and form a yellow dye that is evaluated photometrically.
