LCK Reagent Set measures ammonium in surface water, wastewater, drinking water and swimming-pool water.
LCK Cuvette test measures 0.015-2.0 mg/L NH₄-N and 0.02 - 2.5 mg/L NH4 in surface water, wastewater and other liquids. The product uses indophenol blue method (ISO 7150-1, DIN 38406 E5-1, UNI 11669:2017). Article LCK304 may be used for 25 tests. LCK product can be evaluated on DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Remove the foil from the cap, unscrew the cap from the cuvette, add 5.0 mL of water sample and screw the cap back upside-down. Shake the cuvette and after 15 minutes insert the cuvette into the cell holder. Ammonium ions react at pH 12.6 with hypochlorite ions and salicylate ions in the presence of sodium nitroprusside (the reaction catalyst) to form indophenol blue. Primary amines, all reducing agents and large excess of ammonium may influence the result of the water analysis. Water temperature outside the recommended range may also affect the test result.
It is not recommended to preserve the collected sample for short and long term periods. It is recommended to transport the water sample in glass or polyethylene vessel. The product storage conditions are between 2 °C and 8 °C (refrigerated).
