LCK Reagent Set measures vicinal diketones in beer.
LCK242 Cuvette test measures 0.015-0.5 mg/kg Diacetyl in beer. The product uses analogous MEBAK-method (MEBAK II). The product can be used to evaluate 25 beer samples. LCK242 reagent set (13mm) is compatible with the following DR series spectrophotometers: DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Drip 4 mL of distillate into the cuvette and close it using the DosiCap Zip fluting below. Shake the cuvette content and insert the cuvette into the cell holder of the instrument. Remove the cuvette from the spectrophotometer, unscrew the cap and screw it back on fluting at the top. Shake the cuvette and after 5 minutes evaluate testing results. The yeast metabolism forms the vicinal diketones diacetyl (2,3-Butanedione) and 2,3-Pentanedione that enter into reaction with o-Phenylenediamine (OPD) to form 2,3- Dimethylquinoxaline that is measured photometrically at 335 nm.
The recommended storage temperature of the LCK242 reagent set is from 0 °C to 8 °C (32-46 °F). LCK242 Cuvette test is required to be stored in a dark place protected against light.
