LCK Reagent Set measures bitter units in beer and wort.
13mm LCK241 Cuvette test measures ≥ 2 BU in beer and wort. The product uses analogous MEBAK-method (MEBAK II). Article LCK241 can be used for 25 tests. The product may be evaluated with DR5000 and DR6000. It is required to conduct the analysis using 1cm quartz-glass cuvette (LZP332) and 150 mm pasteur pipet with suction pipet (LZC141).
The procedure of the sample analysis: preparation of the zero value, sample extraction and analysis (see manual for detailed information regarding phases of the aforementioned procedure). The bitter substances or recyclable materials in hops (primarily iso-α-acids) are extracted from the acidified sample with iso-octane. The concentration contained in the iso-octane extract is measured photometrically using one of the aforementioned instruments. It is recommended to clean the quartz-glass cuvette thoroughly after each evaluation series. UV-active substances may cause inconclusive results. Samples that contain carbon dioxide are required to be degassed (using magnetic stirrer LYW977).
LCK241 storage conditions are between 15 °C and 25 °C.
