LCK Reagent Set measures chemical oxygen demand in wastewater, process analysis, surface water and cooling water.
LCK Cuvette test measures COD in the range of 5-60 mg/L O₂ in wastewater, process analysis and other liquids. The product uses dichromate method (ISO 6060-1989, DIN 38409-H41-H44). Article LCK1414 can be used for 25 tests. LCK product may be evaluated on Hach spectrophotometers.
Invert the cuvette a few times, add 2.0 mL of water sample, close the cuvette and invert the cuvette once again. After heating the cuvette using thermostat, let it to cool down to room temperature and analyze the sample with wastewater, process analysis or other liquids using one of the following spectrophotometers: DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000. Oxidizable substances react with sulphuric acid and potassium dichromate solution in the presence of silver sulphate as a catalyst of the reaction. Mercury sulphate masks chloride. The reduction in the yellow color of Cr6+ is measured.
For short-term conservation (up to 24 hours) the water sample must be stored at the temperature of 2 °C - 5 °C and for long-term conservation (up to 14 days) at the temperature of -18 °C. The recommended sampling vessel material is glass or polyethylene. The product storage conditions are between 15 °C and 25 °C. LCK1414 Cuvette test must be protected from light.
