LCK Reagent Set measures orthophosphate in water, soil analysis, fertilizers, animal feed and process analysis.
LCK049 Cuvette test measures 1.6-30 mg/L PO₄-P, 5-90 mg/L PO₄, and 3.7-70.0 mg/L P₂O₅ in water, soil analysis, fertilizers, animal feed and process analysis. The product uses vanadate molybdate method. Article LCK049 may be used to perform 25 tests. The product can be evaluated using following Hach instruments: DR3900, DR6000, DR1900, DR2800, DR3800 and DR5000.
Before you start take into account the following:
- It is recommended to filter the sample before analysis for the orthophosphate determination.
- The pH of the water or soil sample must be between 3 and 10 pH.
- The temperature of the water or soil sample should be 15-25 °C (59-77 °F).
Procedure for Orthophosphate evaluation
Firstly pipet 5.0 mL of water or soil sample into the cuvette. Secondly close the cuvette and invert several times. After 10 minutes, invert the cuvette content a few more times and clean the outside of the cuvette. Finally evaluate results using one of the aforementioned spectrophotometers.

Phosphate ions react with vanadate-molybdate reagent to form yellow color.
