2760445 TOC Cuvette Test, 100-700 mg/L C

16 mm Test 'N Tube Cuvette test measures 100-700 mg/L C in wastewater and industrial water. The product uses direct method (10128). Article 2760445 can be used to evaluate 25-50 tests. TNT product can be evaluated on DR900 only.

Procedure for C evaluation

Mix 10 mL of sample and 0.4 mL of Buffer Solution in the 50-mL Erlenmeyer flask. Process the flask on the stir plate at moderate speed for 10 minutes. Add the content of TOC Persulfate Powder Pillow to blank-value and sample vial. Prepare the blank by pipetting 0.3 mL of organic-free water to the blank vial. Prepare the sample by adding 0.3 mL of sample from the Erlenmeyer flask to the sample vial. Use deionized water to rinse two blue Mid/High Range Indicator Ampules. Put the closed ampule into each Acid Digestion Vial. Remove the top of the ampule as the score aligns with the top of the vial and let ampules to drop into vials. Heat vials in the reactor for 2 hours at the temperature between 103 °C and 105 °C. Cool down vials in the test tube rack for 1 hour. Start program 426 Organic Carbon HR, insert the blank-value vial in the instrument and push ZERO. It is required to install the instrument cap on the DR900 cell holder before selecting ZERO or READ. Remove the blank vial, insert the sample and evaluate testing results. Conduct the sample analysis using measurement wavelengths 598nm and 430nm (for spectrophotometers) or 610nm (for colorimeters).

Sample preparation

The short-term preservation temperature of the water sample is between +2 °C and +5 °C. The pH is required to be decreased using sulphuric acid. For longer-term conservation the collected sample must be stored at the temperature of around -18 °C. The sample should be carried in glass or polyethylene container. The required storage temperature of the product is between 10 °C and 25 °C.
