Reagent Powder Pillows measure silica in water and other liquids.
Article 27169 measures low range (0-30 mg/L SiO₂) and high range (0-600 mg/L SiO₂) in water and other liquids. Each product package can be used to evaluate up to 100 samples.
Procedure for SiO₂ evaluation
For low range (0-30 mg/L SiO₂) silica determination procedure, prepare the blank tube by pouring 5mL sample in the 18mm glass tube. Mix 5mL sample, Acid Reagent Powder Pillow and Molybdate Reagent Powder Pillow in the another tube. After 10 minutes, pour Citric Acid Powder Pillow and stir the content of the tube. After 2 minutes, add Silica 3 Reagent Powder Pillow and swirl the tube content. After 5 minutes, put the blank tube and sample tube in the color comparator box and evaluate testing results. It is required to put the color disc on the center pin in the color comparator box and find the color match using sunlight or lamp as the source of light. Sample preparation
The recommended temperature of the sample is between 15 °C and 25 °C (59–77 °F).
