2608799 TPTZ Iron Reagent Powder Pillows, 0.012-1.800mg/L Fe

TPTZ Iron Reagent Powder Pillows measures iron 0.012-1.800mg/L Fe in water, wastewater and seawater. Article 2608799 uses TPTZ method (8112). Each package contains 100 Powder Pillows. The product is compatible with all Hach instruments except DR820, DR2000 and DR3000. The product can be used for 10mL sample analysis.

Before starting analysis:

• Wash labware with detergent, clean with 1:1 hydrochloric acid solution and rinse in high-quality deionized water.
• Use 5 N sodium hydroxide standard solution to adjust the sample pH to 3-4 before analysis.
• Digest the sample with heat and acid to ensure that all forms of iron are determined.

Procedure for Fe determination

Run program 270 Iron, TPTZ to analyze iron in the range of 0.012-1.800mg/L Fe. Swirl 10 mL sample and TPTZ Iron Reagent Powder Pillow in the cell. Fill another cell with 10 mL of deionized water and TPTZ Iron Reagent Powder Pillow content. After that mix the blank cell for 30 seconds. After 3 minutes, install the blank cell in the cell holder and press ZERO. Insert the pretreated sample cell in the instrument and select READ. It is required to evaluate the sample at 590 nm using spectrophotometer. The measurement wavelength for colorimeters is 610 nm.

TPTZ Iron Reagent forms deep blue-purple dye with ferrous iron (Fe2+). The indicator is combined with reducing agent that converts precipitated or suspended iron to the ferrous state. The amount of ferric iron (Fe3+) can be determined as the difference between the results of ferrous iron test and total iron concentration.
