Test 'N Tube Reagent Set measures total inorganic nitrogen in water, wastewater and seawater.
2604945 Total Inorganic Nitrogen Pretreatment Cuvette Test, 0.2-25.0 mg/L N
Test 'N Tube Cuvette test measures 0.2-25.0 mg/L N in water, wastewater and seawater. The product uses titanium trichloride reduction method. Article 2604945 may be used to conduct analysis of 25-50 samples. The product is compatible with all Hach instruments except DR820 and PC II.
Procedure for N evaluation
Prepare the sample by adding 1 mL of Total Inorganic Nitrogen Pretreatment Base concentrate and 1 mL of sample in the vial. Prepare the blank by filling another vial with Total Inorganic Nitrogen Pretreatment Base concentrate and deionized water. Pour the content of Total Inorganic Nitrogen Reductant ampule to the each vial and insert in the centrifuge for 3 minutes. Then pipet 2 mL of sample vial and blank-value vial to the Test 'N Tube. Add the content of Ammonia Salicylate and Ammonia Cyanurate Reagent Powder Pillow to vials. Mix the content of each vial and start the instrument timer for 20 minutes. After that clean and insert the blank vial in the instrument. Thoroughly clean and evaluate the sample vial using colorimeter. The required wavelength of the measurement is 655nm (for spectrophotometers) or 610nm (for colorimeters).
Sample preparation
It is recommended to store cyanide solutions at pH>11 in order to prevent exposure to hydrogen cyanide gas. It is required to evaluate the collected sample as soon as possible to receive error-free testing results. Increase the sample temperature to room temperature and adjust the pH to 7 using 5.0 N sodium hydroxide standard solution before sample analysis.
