Accuvac Reagent Set measures ozone in water.

Accuvac Reagent Set measures 0.01-1.5 mg/L O₃ in water. The product uses indigo method (8311). Article 2518025 may be used for 25 tests and can be evaluated on all Hach spectrophotometers except DR820 and PC II. Each Accuvac ampule has the exact amount of reagent for a single test and may be used as a measurement cuvette.

Before starting analysis:

  • It is recommended to collect the sample gently and analyze instantly after collection.
  • It is not recommended to stir the sample, allow the sample temperature to increase or transfer the sample from one container to another.
  • It is required to use Ozone AccuVac Ampuls (0-1.5 mg/L), 50mL beaker, stoppers and ozone-free water to conduct sample analysis.

Procedure for O₃ evaluation

Start program 456 Ozone HR AV to perform reagent solution test. Fill AccuVac Ampul with the ozone-free water from the 50mL beaker to prepare the blank. Fill AccuVac Ampul with the sample containing ozone to prepare the sample. After that mix the content of each AccuVac Ampul. Insert the sample AccuVac Ampul in the cell holder and push ZERO. Put the blank AccuVac Ampul in the instrument and select READ. Perform the sample analysis with measurement wavelength of 600nm (for spectrophotometers) or 610nm (for colorimeters). 

Summary of method

The reagent formulation adjusts the sample pH to 2.5. The indigo reagent enters into reaction with ozone bleaching blue color in proportion to the ozone concentration present in the sample.

Sample preparation

It is recommended to store AccuVac Ampuls in the dark place.
