Accuvac Reagent Set measures ozone in water.

Mid-range Accuvac Reagent Set measures 0.01-0.75 mg/L O₃ in water. The product uses indigo method (8311). Article 2517025 can be used to perform analysis of 25 samples and may be evaluated on all Hach spectrophotometers except DR/820. Accuvac ampules contain the exact amount of reagent for a single test and can be used as measurement cuvette.

Before you start take into account the following:

  • It is required to perform the water sample analysis instantly after collection.
  • It is not recommended to conserve the sample for later analysis.
  • It is not recommended to transfer the sample from one container to another.

Procedure for O₃ measurement

Start program 455 Ozone MR AV. Fill Indigo Ozone Reagent AccuVac Ampul with the ozone-free water to prepare the blank. Mix Indigo Ozone Reagent AccuVac Ampul with the water sample to prepare the sample. Invert and thoroughly clean the outside of each Ampul. Insert the AccuVac Ampul with the sample in the instrument and select ZERO. The instrument is intentionally zeroed on the sample and not the blank. Remove Ampul with the sample, put blank AccuVac Ampul in the cell holder and push READ.

Summary of method

The reagent composition adjusts the sample pH to 2.5 after filling the Ampul. The indigo reagent enters into reaction with ozone. The blue color of indigo is bleached in proportion to the amount of ozone. Other reagents in the formulation prevent chlorine interference.
