Accuvac Reagent Set measures ozone in water.

Low range Accuvac Reagent Set measures 0.01-0.25 mg/L O₃ in water. The product uses indigo method. Article 2516025 may be used to perform analysis of 25 samples and can be evaluated on all Hach spectrophotometers except DR/820 (see manual for additional information regarding adapter requirements for DR1900, DR2700, DR2800, DR3800 and DR3900). Accuvac ampules contain the exact amount of reagent for a single test and may be used as measurement cuvette.

Before starting analysis:

  • It is necessary to prevent the escape of ozone from the sample.
  • It is required to evaluate the sample instantly after collection.
  • It is not recommended to store the sample for later analysis.
  • It is not recommended to transfer the sample from one container to another, to shake or stir the collected sample or to allow the sample temperature to increase.

Procedure for O₃ determination

Start program 454 Ozone LR AV. Prepare the blank: Add at least 40mL of ozone-free water in 50mL beaker and fill Indigo Ozone Reagent AccuVac Ampul with the ozone-free water. Prepare the sample: Add at least 40mL of sample in a 50mL beaker and fill Indigo Ozone Reagent AccuVac Ampul with the sample. After that invert and thoroughly clean each AccuVac Ampul. Insert the sample AccuVac Ampul and evaluate using spectrophotometer. Insert the blank-value AccuVac Ampul in the instrument and push READ. The measurement wavelength is 600nm (for spectrophotometers) or 610nm (for colorimeters). In the aforementioned method, the instrument is zeroed on the sample and not the blank.
