Accuvac Reagent Set measures fluoride in water, wastewater and seawater.
Accuvac Reagent Set measures 0.02-2.00 mg/L F in water, wastewater and seawater. The product uses SPADNS method (8029). Article 2506025 may be used to conduct analysis of 25 samples and can be evaluated on all Hach spectrophotometers except DR/820. Accuvac Reagent Set ensures fast and accurate results for fluoride measurement with minimal effort. Each package of the product contains the exact amount of reagent for a single test and can be used as a measurement cuvette.
Before starting analysis:
- It is required to clean glass vessels before each test to ensure accurate testing results.
- It is recommended to collect the water, wastewater and seawater sample with clean glass or plastic bottles.
- It is required to increase the temperature of the sample to room temperature before measurement.
Procedure for F measurement
Start program 195 Fluoride AV to perform sample evaluation in the range of 0.02-2.00 mg/L F. Prepare the blank and sample (see manual). Then invert each AccuVac Ampul a few times and start timer for 1 minute. After the timer expires, clean the outside of each Ampul and put the blank AccuVac Ampul into the instrument. Remove the blank and insert the sample AccuVac Ampul to evaluate testing results. The required measurement wavelength is 580nm (for spectrophotometers) or 610nm (for colorimeters).
Summary of method
The fluoride reacts with red zirconium-dye solution forming colorless complex. As a result of the reaction, red color is formed that is required to be analyzed using spectrophotometer.
