Accuvac Reagent Set measures total chlorine, bromine and iodine in process water, treated water, estuary and seawater.
Accuvac Reagent Set measures 0.02-2.00 mg/L Cl₂, 0.05-4.50 mg/L Br₂ and 0.07-7.00 mg/L I₂ in process water, treated water and other liquids. The product uses DPD method method (8167, 8016, 8031). Article 2507025 may be used for 25 tests. Accuvac Reagent Set is compatible with all Hach spectrophotometers. Accuvac Reagent Set provides fast and reliable results for total chlorine, bromine and iodine analysis with minimal effort.
Before you start take into account the following:
- It is recommended to collect the water, treated water and other liquid sample using clean glass container.
- It is required to perform sample analysis instantly.
- It is not recommended to preserve the collected sample for later measurement.
Procedure for Cl₂ evaluation
Start program 85 Chlorine F&T AV for total chlorine evaluation, 55 Bromine AV for bromine analysis or 246 Iodine AV for iodine determination. Prepare the sample and blank AccuVac Ampuls (see manual). After that invert the AccuVac Ampul content a few times. Clean the blank-value cell, insert in the spectrophotometer and push ZERO. Clean the outside of the AccuVac Ampul, put in the instrument and select READ. See manual for detailed information regarding evaluation of the sample using colorimeter.
Summary of method
Iodine and free chlorine, bromine or iodine enter into reaction with DPD forming pink color that must be measured photometrically. The color intensity is proportional to total chlorine, total bromine or total iodine concentration in the sample.
