2502025 Free Chlorine Accuvac Reagent Set, 0.02-2.00 mg/L Cl₂

2502025 Hach

Accuvac Reagent Set measures free chlorine in water, treated water, estuary and seawater.

Add to bag

Accuvac Reagent Set measures 0.02-2.00 mg/L Cl₂ in water, treated water and other liquids. The product uses DPD method (8021). Each package may be used to determine free chlorine in 25 samples and is compatible with DR900, DR1900, DR3900, DR6000 and PC II. Accuvac ampules contain the exact amount of reagent for a single test and may be used as measurement cuvette.

Before starting analysis:

  • Use clean glass containers to collect the water, treated water or other liquid sample.
  • It is recommended to pretreat glass sample vessels to remove chlorine demand.
  • It is necessary to conduct sample analysis instantly after collection.
  • It is required to prepare DPD Free Chlorine Reagent AccuVac Ampuls, beaker, sample cells and stopper to evaluate the sample.

Procedure for Cl₂ evaluation

Start program 85 Chlorine F&T AV. Add the sample in the cell to prepare the blank. Clean the blank, insert in the cell holder and select ZERO. Blank AccuVac Ampule may be used to zero the instrument. After that fill the AccuVac Ampul with water, treated water or other liquid sample to prepare the sample. Invert the content of the AccuVac Ampul a few times, clean the ampul and evaluate testing results using one of the abovementioned instruments.

Summary of method

Chlorine enters into reaction with DPD indicator forming pink color. The intensity of the color is proportional to the chlorine concentration and must be assessed using spectrophotometer at wavelength of 530 nm or colorimeter at 520 nm.
